Healing Crisis: Navigating the Turning Point

Firstly, I appreciate anyone taking time for their well-being and receiving energy alignment. It is a form of wellness and a need to feel one with ourselves. It's not for the weaker or those who are having issues. There is no one person I have met who has all energies in perfect alignment or doesn't have any issues. We all have survival methods from the day-to-day chaos and challenges we face. For some, yoga, meditation, the gym, walking, massage, therapy, etc., work. But it's important to find out what method works best for you.

If you have been to an energy healing session with me, I always give you a heads-up about the Healing Crisis: what to expect after the session. And here, I am sharing a few things about how to cope with this process.

No two energy healing sessions are ever the same. The expectation of an energy healing session might differ from the actual experience, especially for those new to connecting with themselves and understanding from the Heart Center.

Take what resonates from this blog and leave the rest. Having practiced Reiki for the past 14 years and seen thousands of clients, I can confidently say that every session is unique and brings up what we need and sometimes what we want. the needs of the soul and want of us are different. I can cover that in another blog post.

You know those times when you're facing big challenges – maybe it's dealing with past trauma, navigating a major life transition, or just feeling deeply uncomfortable? It's inevitable that there will be pain, and the shock of stepping away from that pain can feel overwhelming.

Healing often involves a process of separation – letting go of old patterns and deeply held emotions. This can feel unsettling at first, like a churning in your gut. But trust me, on the other side of that discomfort lies peace and balance. It's like moving from a dark, dense room into a space filled with light.

Think about it: the view from the third floor is different from the view from the rooftop. Healing is a journey of ascent, and witnessing that transformation unfold is truly amazing.

We've all experienced these moments of intense discomfort – that physical unease, those waves of emotion, unexpected setbacks. They can feel like a crisis. But I've come to believe that these periods aren't necessarily crises, but rather "healing crises.

What is a Healing Crisis? and why is it important to know about it?

A healing crisis is a temporary intensification of symptoms or discomfort that occurs during a healing process. Think of it like this: when you're healing a wound, there might be a period of increased inflammation and pain before the wound begins to heal properly. Similarly, when we're undergoing deep emotional or spiritual healing, we may experience a surge of intense emotions, anxieties, or even physical symptoms.

Healing crises can feel like a bit of a storm. As we begin to heal, we might experience a temporary increase in symptoms. It's almost like coming out of numbness and suddenly becoming more aware of the pain that's been there all along. Don't worry, this is a natural part of the process.

When a healing crisis arises, it's crucial to be extra gentle with yourself. Allow yourself time to simply be with whatever emotions are surfacing. See if you can support your body in releasing what no longer serves you. Drink plenty of water, rest when you need it, and practice self-compassion. Remember, you can pace this journey, but stay the course.

Often, these crises are accompanied by new openings and profound insights.

Here are some common signs you might experience during a healing crisis:

  • Physically: You might notice increased pain, fatigue, digestive issues, headaches, skin issues, or even flu-like symptoms. Just like during detoxification or a shift in diet, individuals may experience headaches, fatigue, or digestive issues.

  • Emotionally: You might feel more anxious or irritable, experience sudden waves of sadness or anger, have trouble sleeping, feel overwhelmed, or even have old traumas resurface.

  • Relationship Challenges: Significant relationship changes can trigger intense emotional reactions and a period of adjustment.

Remember, these are just some of the possible signs, and everyone experiences them differently.

Healing crises are those intense periods that inevitably arise on our journey of healing. It's easy to feel discouraged when things get tough, but remember, these ups and downs are a natural part of the process.

Knowing that these intense periods are temporary can make a huge difference. Instead of fighting against them, we can learn to ride the wave. Acknowledge the discomfort, accept it, and gently guide yourself through it.

These crises often bring to the surface deeply buried emotions and limiting beliefs we weren't even aware of. By facing these challenges head-on, we gain deeper insights into ourselves. We can release old patterns and create space for profound healing.

Remember, these challenges are opportunities for growth. Embrace them, learn from them, and continue on your journey. As you move beyond this healing crisis, you'll start feeling lighter, more connected to your emotions, and empowered by your own strength. You'll navigate through the calmness and clarity that awaits, ultimately returning to the truest version of yourself.

Navigating the Storm: Tips for Riding the Waves

Healing crises can feel overwhelming, like a storm brewing within. But remember, you're not alone in this. Here are a few ways to navigate these challenging times:

Be Kind to Yourself: Treat yourself with the same compassion and understanding you'd offer a dear friend. Remember your strength and resilience.

Tune In: Pay close attention to your body and mind without judgment. Notice your emotions and sensations without getting caught up in them.

Find Your Solace: Explore healthy coping mechanisms like deep breathing, meditation, yoga, spending time in nature, or journaling. These practices can be lifelines during challenging times.

Lean on Your Tribe: Don't hesitate to reach out to your support system – friends, family, therapists, or support groups. Sometimes, simply sharing your experience can offer immense relief.

Breathing exercises can be incredibly helpful during times of stress; these practices can offer a sense of calm and ease.

  • Deep Breathing: Techniques like square breathing, where you inhale for four counts, hold for four, exhale for four, and hold for four, can help regulate your nervous system.

  • Mindful Presence: Paying attention to the present moment, whether it's through mindful walking, meditation, or simply observing your breath, can anchor you in the here and now.

  • Journaling: Writing down your worries or concerns can help to release pent-up emotions and bring clarity to your thoughts.

  • Sharing Your Experience: Connecting with a friend or loved one and sharing your experiences can provide valuable support and a sense of community.

Remember, you are not alone. You are strong, and you will get through this.

Healing crises are not something to fear, but rather an opportunity for deeper healing and personal growth. By understanding this process and developing healthy coping mechanisms, we can navigate these challenging periods with greater ease and emerge stronger and more integrated.
